Asian Para Games 2018

Asian Games 2018 Jakarta - Palembang has been successfully held in Indonesia. Everyone are satisfied and happy with the result of the Asian Games, especially when Indonesian athletes are able to bring home more than 30 gold medals, 24 silver, and 43 bronze. Luckily for us, the euphoria of the Asian Games continued by the upcoming biggest sport event starting from 6 October - 13 October, which is Asian Para Games 2018.

Asian Para Games, also known as the 3rd Asian Para Games, is a multi-sport event that will be held in Jakarta, for Asian athletes with disability. Like the torch relay of the 2018 Asian Games, the torch relay began at the Mrapen in Central Java on 5 September 2018 where the torch was lift using the Indonesian natural eternal flame to mark the 30-day countdown to the event. The flame was passed to another 8 Indonesian cities, which are Solo (5 September), Ternate (9 September), Makassar (12 September), Denpasar (16 September), Medan (23 September), Pangkal Pinang (26 September), and Jakarta (30 September).

Like during the Asian Games 2018, TransJakarta provides free bus rides involving 300 disabled-friendly buses which consists of 200 low-entry buses and 100 high-entry buses during the games for disabled athletes everyday and on weekend during the games for the locals to show some supports.

The opening ceremony of the games will be held at the Gelora Bung Kanro Main Stadium on 6 October 2018 and will use ocean as its theme. A minute of silence to honor the 2018 Sulawesi earthquake and tsunami victims will be observed. Jay Subiyakto will be the Associate creative director and set designer of the ceremony.
